Journalism
Editor in Chief, The Islander
I was recently honored by our local paper for the front-page reporting and editorials my team led at The Islander, covering two major sex-abuse scandals at our high school.
These investigations were the toughest stories we’ve tackled — and I’m so proud of our journalism staff for confronting them head-on, demanding transparency and holding our administrators accountable. Read the full feature HERE.

For the past four years, I’ve been part of my school newspaper—as a writer, editor, and now Editor in Chief. I’ve covered local stories, redesigned our website, attended conventions, and helped lead our team through an advisor change.

The School of the New York Times
In the Summer of 2024, I spent 17 days in NYC studying Political Commentary at The School of the New York Times. I collaborated and debated with peers on political articles, studied under Nikita Stewart, interviewed diverse NYC residents, and honed advanced writing skills.

Honors Fellowship in Community Development
I earned the Global Leadership Adventures Fellowship in Honors for Community Development during my program in Ghana, an advanced, self-driven leadership experience for high-achieving students. Through this fellowship, I explored community building, education, and cultural exchange while teaching and volunteering abroad.
For my final project, I created a 7-page essay reflection on how cross-cultural connection can spark meaningful change. This experience deepened my commitment to global service and was recognized by the GLA Fellowship Committee as a Fellowship of Merit.
