ACTIVITES &
VOLUNTEERING
From competitive dancing on our State Championship drill team to volunteering both locally & abroad, I love being involved, creating connections with people & giving back. In my free time, you'll find me enjoying the outdoors - whether hiking, skiing or on the lake!

Drill Team Captain

Dancing on the Drill team for 4 years has been one of the most significant parts of high school. From 6am daily practices to sweeping our State Championships in all categories, I'm so proud of the commitment, work ethic and dedication of our team. I'm honored the team & coaches chose me as a team leader, both as Lt. Captain my Junior year and as Captain my Senior year.
DECA State Finalist (2 years)

I took Marketing my sophomore year and loved competing in DECA with my twin sister—we even made it to State! The experience taught me how to present with confidence, think strategically, and work as a team. Getting to do it all with my sister made it even more memorable.
Editor in Chief - MIHS Islander Paper

Journalism has also been a huge part of my high school experience. I have spent the last four years honing in on my writing ability while learning from classmates and teachers on journalistic integrity. I got the opportunity to learn from reporters at the New York Times and further my understanding of professional reporting. Furthermore, I led my class through difficult Editorials including presidential endorsements, and the misconduct of our former advisor. These opportunities are some that have only been afforded to me through journalism and I plan on continuing to enhance throughout my journey in college!
Ghana - Teaching & Volunteering

Volunteering in Ghana changed my outlook on our education system indefinitely, allowing me to appreciate aspects of my learning that previously went unnoticed. Through construction work on the village schools in Asitey, to teaching the private schools in Odumase, connecting with these children was a great experience that I would recommend to everyone. The connectedness, culture, and appreciation for the art of learning is one that all Asitey children taught me, and I plan to take with me into college. But most of all, what I admired about this opportunity was that it showed me how similar I am to young women across the world, and that everyone has the power to connect with one another.
Water Sports & Hiking

Growing up on an island in the Pacific Northwest, the lake has always been part of my life. On sunny days, I’m usually out wake surfing or paddle boarding on Lake Washington—or hiking to a nearby waterfall or glacier lake with friends.
Skiing

Skiing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember—mostly in Sun Valley, but also in Deer Valley, Jackson Hole, and Big Sky. Nothing compares to fresh powder, mountain air, and time with family & friends.
